Here’s what you need to know about the Monkeypox Vaccine
Monkeypox (orthopoxvirus) is a rare disease that is caused by infection from the Monkeypox virus. The Monkeypox virus is part of the same family of viruses that cause Smallpox. However, symptoms of Monkeypox are considered milder than those of Smallpox. The United States Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) now recommends the Smallpox/Monkeypox Vaccine (JYNNEOS™) for people ages 18 and older that are at a high risk of contracting the Monkeypox virus.
